Michele’s love of shells began as a child. She spent summers on the beaches in Maryland and New Jersey passionately combing the shoreline for shells. While in college, Michele learned about the jewelry industry by working at a high end jewelry store in her hometown of Laurel, MD, but she pursued a career in television for 19 years. In March 2024 after being laid off from her job as a television producer, Michele made an impromptu trip to Florida. When visiting the beaches on the Atlantic Coast, the idea for mi shell jewelry was born. Michele’s mission is to handcraft one-of-a-kind pieces that honor the wonder of the ocean. mi shell jewelry is a modern delicate take on shell jewelry but what makes it truly special is the use of magnetic clasps making it accessible for all.
